The UK's largest mix with drugs companies, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and AstraZeneca (AZ), have the two produced strong third quarter figures and signed major deals.

GSK announced an unprecedent physic discovery and development partnership with Indian generics giant Ranbaxy, and AZ signed a deal with California-based biotech company Abgenix.
