Arch Chemicals, Cytec Industries, Engelhard, FMC Rohm and Haas (R&H), and Sigma-Aldrich reported stronger second-quarter sales and earnings, helped by way of the improved economy (table). Cambrex's consequence s were down because of asset sales, and Lubrizol's earnings dropp because of charges incurred with its acquisition of Noveon in June (CW June 9 p 5)
